Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why am I being billed for Medicare Part B?

Most people have the Part B premium deducted from Social Security. If you aren’t receiving Social Security (or it isn’t set up yet), Medicare may bill you directly. The Part B premium can also be higher based on income.

  • What’s the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medigap?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an “all-in-one” alternative to Original Medicare and often includes extra benefits, while Medigap helps pay certain out-of-pocket costs left by Original Medicare. The right fit depends on your doctors, prescriptions, travel needs, and budget.

  • When can I enroll or change plans?

Enrollment depends on your situation—turning 65 (Initial Enrollment), fall Open Enrollment, Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment, or a Special Enrollment Period after certain life events.

  • Do I need a Part D prescription drug plan?

Many people choose Part D (or a plan that includes drug coverage) to help cover prescriptions and avoid late enrollment penalties. We’ll check your medications and pharmacy to compare costs.

  • Do you charge for help?

Your consultation is free. If you enroll, we may be paid by an insurance company—this doesn’t change your plan premium.

  • Are you connected to Medicare or the government?

No. We’re a private insurance agency and aren’t affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program.
